Milky Way Horizon Looking North

This is the northern horizon view from my location, taken at 8:30pm 23rd August — it's late winter in the southern hemisphere. The brightest star visible near the center of the image is Altair. Altair is the brightest star in the constellation Aquila and the twelfth brightest star in the nighttime sky.
